The first of its kind in our school, Riglam studies program for teaching staff started today.  One hundred and thirteen hours of this study program started today with a little ceremony and good auspices in presence of Director, Principal and all the staffs of the school.

Program started with offering prayers to Manjushri (Lord of wisdom) and prayers to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Then, our Director gave the introductory speech. He related to us the main reason behind introducing this program for our teachers and all the teachers in all the branches of TCV schools. His holiness the Dalai Lama has always urged younger Tibetan generations to preserve their language and culture. In almost all of his speeches to Tibetan children and teachers, he has shown urgent attention to preserve our language. And especially in a recent special audience to the principals and directors of all TCV Schools, he has displayed ardent hopes and expectations from TCV Schools to preserve our language and Tibetan’s unique way of studying through Riglam. He keeps high hopes from TCV and our teachers and expect us to give the best education to our children.  So, keeping in our mind his beliefs and expectations from us, Tibetan learning program and Riglam studies for our teachers is started from this year in all TCV Schools. And as an auspicious gesture, TCV has made it 113 hours of studies in relate to the years he agreed to live for us. Butter tea and sweet Tibetan rice was given to all the gathered staff as sign of good and auspicious start of the program.

Next, the chairperson of Riglam Group in our department, Mr. Ngawang Thupten la gave his introductory speech and sketched out his plans and timetables scheduled to carry out the program.

Lastly, school Principal talked about the program and requested all teachers to take positive step towards the program. He showed us a short video clip by Geshe Lobsang Dawa la where he talks about importance of learning Riglam studies and using it in our daily life.
