13524580_10207757904440277_6772604088512746886_n23rd June 2016: TCV School celebrated SOS Day to mark the gratitude of the great person who had founded SOS Children’s villages across the globe namely Dr. Hermann Gmeiner. As usual there was a function in the school hall especially attended by the Home Mothers and the junior students. A live portrait of Dr. Hermann Gmeiner with a butter lamp occupied a corner of the stage.

On the very outset, the Junior section Assistant Headmaster Mr. Tsering Ngodup welcomed all gathered. He called upon Mr. Ngawang Thupten la, the Assistant Headmaster Senior section, who spoke on the life story of this great man. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ngawang Thupten la requested everyone to take lessons from the life of this great man and to try to follow the footstep of him in developing empathy and compassion. After that, the school Director Mr. Choeying Dhoundup la spoke in length about the significance of the day and addressed the gathering reminding the students their duties. He also advised the students to feel lucky and live up to the expectation of Hermann Gmeiner.

13439232_10207757901760210_6215677352414579844_nDuring the function, the winners of the painting competition held a couple of days back were presented scarf and gift hampers. The morning function concluded successfully.

In the evening, as usual there was cultural program by the students of Junior Section especially the lower classes. The nite was one of the most awaited nite for the tiny tots as they presented their songs and dance to the audience filled with grown-ups. The laughter and the cries filled the entire hall. For some hours, the adults were taken back into their childhood. It was really a SOS day, when one throws back into their childhood days.

Finally the chief guest, the school Director presented all the participating classes handsome prizes.
