118th June, 2016: TCV School observed and participated in the first ever Tibetan Lu jong day/ International  Gang Gyok Day (walk and run) on 18th of June as per the request and kind funding from Nangten Menling Institution led by Trulku Lobsang Dhamchoe Nyima via Department of Health, CTA Dharamsala. This day is observed internationally led by Trulku Lobsang.

This day is observed in all the Tibetan schools and communities under the banner Run for Health and Happiness. The day was observed by a yoga and meditation in the school hall, followed by a short Marathon by the students of class VIII. The school PET Mr. Namgyal Tenzin la, who had also earned expertise in yoga led the students and conducted the entire program. The students sincerely observed the day and participated in all the programs chalked out.

2This is the second time he is conducting this Annual International Gang Gyok Day. The purpose of the Day is to promote health and happiness throughout the world. Rinpoche started International Gang Gyok Day last year when he led over 700 people running through the streets of Dharamsala, India. Thousands of people worldwide showed their support by organizing local Gang Gyok events, making this a truly international event.

5Gang Gyok is a powerful method for running and walking with endless energy and vitality. It is one of the many Tibetan Movement practices taught by Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche that can improve our physical and mental well-being. Gang Gyok improves health and happiness and reduces disease and depression. It only takes 10 minutes to run or walk for better health and happiness.
