12th October 2015: A weeklong Riglam congregation is underway at TCV School Suja. Around 109 students from five different schools,; namely Upper, Lower, Gopalpur, Chauntra TCV School and STS Chauntra reached the host school with their respective Riglam teachers on 11th October. Upon reaching, the host school had left no stone unturned in receiving and accommodating them properly.

The main function was held on the open stage which was adorned with the murals of great Nalanda scholars surrounding the large photo of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Mr. Sonam Sichoe la, the former Director and presently Education Director of TCV schools was the chief guest. Rev. Yeshi Tashi la, the Dialectic teacher and the main program co-coordinator gave an introductory speech. He gave detailed information about the background of this congregation and how His Holiness had taken keen interest in starting such Riglam in schools.

After that, there were Riglam representations from few schools. The students debated on various subjects like Science, Math and Tibetan Grammar.

The chief guest spoke during the function. He gave a final conclusion on the Riglam session, with special focus on Riglam and Mathematics. He concluded his speech by requesting everyone to incorporate this ancient tradition of debating in various subjects.

After the function, the guests were escorted to the school conference room where the exhibitions of Tibet Our Country were kept.

During their weeklong stay, they will be debating among themselves in the morning as well as in the evening. There was Riglam presentation everyday during the morning assembly by various schools.

Around 120 students including TCV Suja Riglam students gather in the hall and exchange their knowledge on various subjects using this art of reasoning. A beautiful environment of Riglam was created in the school and more and more students and teachers showed their interest in this ancient art of reasoning. This is one of the main objectives of having such congregations in schools.

The students from the 5 different schools would be returning on 17th after completing this weeklong training and congregation. Earlier, the Department of Education, CTA had organized similar meeting at Upper TCV School, Dharamsala.
