10th October 2015: As a part of Gayton Celebration, TCV Suja Junior Tibetan Sing a Song Nite was held in the junior school Hall at 7 pm. Mr. Karma Sherap Therchin la, the school Principal was the chief guest for the nite along with the school staff and students. One of the class VI students was the main host and she welcomed everyone by unveiling the beautifully decorated hall. She then called upon the three judges. After that, she called upon the classes one by one. The contest was divided into two; class III and IV on one side and class V and VI on the other side.

All the classes had practiced very well and as such each class was better than the other. The judges had a tough time choosing the winner. There were around 13 classes participating in this contest. They had spent considerable time preparing for this contest with the help of school Music and Dance teacher, Mrs. Pema Choekyi la. There were also parents and local guardian of the students from the nearby Tibetan colony.

Finally, the results were declared and the winners were presented prizes by the school Principal. The school Principal spoke highly of the students’ performance. He also thanked the teacher for producing such great musicians and requested not only the teacher but parents to hone their skills in instrument.

Song and dance has become an integral part of school curriculum in TCV School. Children have their weekly music class during which they play musical instrument and sing songs. The school music and dance teacher take their music class and arranges annual sing a song nite.
