DSC0804528th August 2015: This year unlike previous years, the actual Inter House Cultural Competition was held in the evening of 28th August with its maiden performance on 27th August for the Junior Students. Both the house masters and the students had been vigorously practicing for this competition since a month ago. This nite of song and dance was dedicated to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Gayton Celebration. Tibet which is called the ocean of song and dance is really a rich country with its varied song and dance which was presented by the four different houses.

Mr. Pema Choejor, the honorable Minister for Religion and Culture of the CTA was the chief guest along with other dignitaries comprising of ATPD member, Local Representative Officers, Directors and Principals, Games Committee members of nearby schools and Monasteries and other guests. The cultural nite began with a welcome and introductory speech from the school Director, Mr. Choeying Dhoundup la. He spoke about the important role schools play in preserving and restoring the Tibetan Culture and the contribution the school in making in this regard. He also spoke in volume why Tibet is called Ocean of song and dance and requested us to be proud of being a part of this great nation. Finally, he wished everybody a wonderful evening of song and dance.

DSC08122After the Director’s welcome speech, the school Head master Mr. Tenzin Dorje la introduced the three Judges for the nite followed by the items one by one. There were four main categories; Group Song, Junior Dance, Solo Song and Senior dance. The dances and the songs from all the four houses were so outstanding that the guests poured in their donations one after the other. Both the hard work and teamwork of the house masters and the students could be seen through their flawless performances. The next two hours was filled with various song and dances from the roof of the world and the audience gave a big round of applause after every item.

At the end of the show, the chief Guest Kalon Pema Choejor extended his greeting and spoke highly of the quality and the standard of the performance by the students. He presented a cheque of few thousand rupees for the school. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the school for producing an outstanding class XII result and the Sikyong and Gaden Podrang nominees. After that, the three judges, the house masters and the individual house helpers and the school Mike in charge were presented scarves by the Kalon. Finally, the result was read out followed by big round of applause and celebration by the students of Trisong House.
