23rd June 2015: SOS Day, which is celebrated everywhere in SOS villages in remembrance of Dr. Herman Gmeiner, the founder of SOS children villages was also celebrated in the school on 23rd of June. There was a function in the school hall. Among the attendees including both staff and students, home mothers were the main guest. The function began with prayer for Manjushree followed by the butter lamp offering of Rev. Tseten Wangchuk la. After that, Mr. Tenzin Dhargyal la, an English teacher introduced the day. He spoke on the life story of Dr. Hermann Gmeiner and his message in life. The school Director addressed the gathering during the function. He advised the students to study hard and contribute to the society. After the function, refreshment was arranged for all the staff members in the recently inaugurated staff mess.

In the afternoon, the final football tournament began. First it was women’s team between class XI and XII girls. After 1-1 goal, the deciding penalty finally made the class XI girls the winner. After that, the final match in the male category was played between class X and XII boys. The match was really tough and both the teams were playing really well. Finally, class XII boys beat the class X boys by 3:1. After the match, the presentation was done. Winners proudly lifted the cup and cake. The referees and officials were presented scarves. There were prizes for best players.

In the evening, there was sing a song nite presentation from kindergarten to grade 2 in the Junior school hall. The smallest and the youngest members of the school presented their songs and dance. The whole hall was packed with audience who welcomed every program with a huge round of applause. The children were also given special gifts on this special occasion. Apart from this, a painting competition was done in the junior school hall to mark the day. The special day was made very eventful by everyone.
