The much awaited event i.e Inter-Tibetan Schools basket tournament was held in our school from 29th-31st August 2014. The Chief GueDSC_0024st on the occasion was Mr.Pema Chinnjor la  – Minister for Religion & Culture. In his speech he stressed on the importance of co-curricular activities viz. games and sports for the overall development of the child’s character.

The players representing their schools marched on the ground with school flags in tune with the school band. The schools who participated in the tournament were CST Dalhousie, STS Chauntra, TCV Chauntra, TCV Gopalpur,TCV lower and TCV Upper Dharamsala. The tournament was meant for The Tibetan schools located in Himachal Pradesh. The final match was played on Sunday ie on 31st Aug. between TCV Suja and TCV Upper.  UPPER TCV won the tournament with the margin of one point.DSC_0029

The chief guest on the closing ceremony was TCV President Mr.Tsewang Yeshi  la. He spoke on the efforts one must put in developing the basic skill of the game which is much more important than having the winning spirit while playing in the court. He even cited the example of one of the most famous basketball players (Michael Jordan) and the efforts put by him to get excellence in this field.

The coordinatoDSC_0875r, Mr. Kelsang  Dhondup  lauded the school for gearing up with excellent and  wonderful preparation for the tournament. He thanked all the participating schools and their escorts.

During the stay, the players and their escorts were provided with the best facility at school to make them feel at home. Later, they thanked the school for its hospitality.
