Geshe Jamphel Dakpa la at the center, the chief guest on the School Re-Opening Function


Geshe la offering scarves to the new school Captains and prefects during the Function

1st March 2013: After nearly two months’ winter break, TCV school Suja held its School Re-opening Function on 1st March at 9 am on the school basketball ground. Geshe Jamphel Dakpa la, the Director of Sarah Tibetan Higher Studies was the chief guest. The function was attended by both staff and students of the school besides parents and relatives of students. The school Director gave an opening speech and welcomed all the staff and students for the new academic year.

During the function, prizes were given to the students who had excelled in their studies by the chief guest. The chief guest also presented scarves for the staff members taking various responsibilities. After that, Geshe la addressed the gathering comprising of little more than thousand people. Speaking on the occasion, Geshe la said, “Under such wonderful facility, you need to put all your efforts in your studies and represent Tibet in the International level. You need to work far more than the students of other countries. So far, we are not able to produce professional people and I hope many professionals will come from you all and shine the name of Tibet.” Geshe la also shared his vast experience visiting various countries to the students and advised them in a very loving manner.

The school Principal gave the final vote of thanks and reminded the students their winter assignments. Finally the function came to an end with the singing of the school song.

After the function, books were distributed and both the teachers and students headed for their respective classrooms.
